
Tanner was a late bloomer and started competing in sports in eighth grade.
At 6’5” and 305 lbs, this Lynx lineman hopes to continue to play in college.
Chase Tanner likes everything about football. Tanner plays left guard and
defensive tackle for Abraham Lincoln. The past three years have been focused
on the game.
“I like hitting, being part of the team, bonding with players,” said Tanner.
“I’m thankful to have it as part of my life. I play football in the fall,
lift weights in the winter and summer, and in the spring I compete in track
and field.”
Jenny Brown
Jenny Brown plans to be a more vocal leader for the Mustangs softball team.
This summer she hit .380 for the
“Playing second base is new for me, but I like it,” said Brown. “I’ve been
playing for a longtime, seven years with the Quakes Gold team, and I love
the friendships, looking forward to the next game or practice.”
She is optimistic about the Mustang’s chances for state.
“I think we have a good chance to get back to state again this year. All the
starters are back except for one. The students, parents and teachers here at
Millard North have been really supportive of our team. Winning state would
be a great way to end the year.”
Chelsey Feekin
Chelsey Feekin loves volleyball and she knows what she wants. The senior
setter for the Papio Monarchs has been playing since she was seven and will
continue to play in college.
“I’m committed to
Feekin enjoys the social and competitive elements of volleyball too.
“I play club ball in the summer and during the school season it’s fun seeing
girls on the other teams and playing against them. Last year we won state as
the underdog,” said Feekin. “This year we are the top seed, so we need to
learn how to deal with the pressure and stay out of our heads. Winning this
year would be the perfect ending to a perfect season.”
